I met a couple at the pool in Las Vegas. We started chatting and they told me that they were married last year in Vegas. Of course the conversation quickly turned to weddings when I asked about the details.

Who Gets Married In Vegas?

They'd been dating for 7 years and their family always joked that they'd come back from vacation married. They decided last year's trip to Vegas was going to be it.

They took along the bride's sister and her husband along with the groom's brother and his wife. They were in Vegas preparing for their wedding at the Little White Chapel of Love (yes, that's where Brittany Spears had her first wedding!) when their family (including their parents) received evites to watch the live webcast of their wedding.

What Happens In Vegas Doesn't Stay In Vegas If You Get Married

The day after their wedding the bride had organized with a wedding planner to send out formal invitations announcing their marriage the day before and inviting all their friends and family to a wedding reception in 2 weeks.

The couple collected Vegas casino glasses which served as centerpieces filled with white M&Ms and mixed nuts. They served various casino cuisine (who knew there was such a thing!) such as wings and sushi to bring the joy of the location of their wedding home to their guests. The room was decorated with pictures of them from their week in Vegas and they re-broadcast their wedding webcast at the party.

I told this bride that she was an "organized eloper."

What I love about this story is that this couple simplified and sought inspiration from their wedding location. Although they were eloping they wanted to involve their friends and family in a unique way which they did through a webcast and their follow up Vegas themed reception.

This wasn't your run of the mill Vegas wedding, nor was it your traditional celebration with friends and family. How can you think out of the box when it comes to your wedding and surprise your friends with something completely different?
